Use Duolingo with Liberty Lamp Learning

1 min read

Duolingo is available in Liberty Lamp as an outside World Language curriculum provider. The student completes the language work in Duolingo while Liberty Lamp manages the homeschool schedule and permanent family record.

Add a Duolingo course #

  1. Open Curriculum and select the student.
  2. Choose or add the student’s World Language subject.
  3. Select Duolingo as the provider.
  4. Choose the language course you want to use.
  5. Review the course role and pacing.
  6. Save the course mapping.

The current Duolingo catalog templates are configured for grades 6–12 as 36-week elective courses with 4 planned study days per week, 100 weekly minutes, and 1 credit. Review the student’s plan before saving so it matches your homeschool requirements.

Complete Duolingo work #

  1. Open the planned Duolingo assignment from Today’s Learning or the Student Dashboard.
  2. Select Open Provider.
  3. Sign in to the student’s existing Duolingo account and complete the planned language work.
  4. Return to Liberty Lamp.
  5. Select Mark Assignment Complete.

Keep the homeschool record #

Liberty Lamp records the course in the student’s curriculum plan and can be used to maintain completion, attendance, instructional time, grades, work samples, and portfolio evidence through the existing Liberty Lamp record tools.

If your student already uses Duolingo or Duolingo for Schools, the student can continue using that existing account. Liberty Lamp does not replace the Duolingo account.

Current integration: Duolingo opens as an outside provider. Liberty Lamp does not automatically import Duolingo lesson progress, XP, scores, or account data. Record the homeschool information you want to preserve in Liberty Lamp.
